Independence Day

It's taken awhile to post about our weekend because I spent a day and a half of it reading Stephenie Meyer's book, The Host. I did enjoy it and I'm excited to finish out her Twilight series next month. In case you didn't know, I'm a total bookworm and love to read. There's a bunch of books I'm waiting for this fall, so I know I'll be busy reading.

Anyway, we had our traditional BBQ for the fourth. We invited our families over and had sloppy joes, salads, chips, desserts, and more. After dinner, we talked, played games, and enjoyed eachother's company. We had a RockBand fest going on downstairs on the Wii, and played until dark. Almost everyone participated and it was a blast. As soon as it got dark, we headed for the backyard and set up our chairs and blankets to get settled in for the fireworks show. We have the perfect view of the fireworks at Thanksgiving Point. The show was great as always. The kids had a ton of fun and enjoyed playing with their cousins. Brooke made it about halfway through the show and then went to bed. She was so tired, she fell asleep even with Cole in the other room barking. Of course, I was so caught up with everything else going on, I didn't take any pictures. Thanks everyone for coming!

(Pssst, the next RockBand party will be coming soon!)
