Wow, what a crazy weekend! Thomas on Friday, and Lagoon on Monday. We woke up to a dark and dreary, wet and rainy Monday morning. We had planned to pack up and leave about 9 in the morning, but Jay took one look outside the window and crawled back into bed. So, I got up, showered, dressed, got the kids ready, and harrassed Jay until he decided to get ready too. He complained the whole time about the weather and kept asking me if I was sure I still wanted to go. Well, duh, you can't get me to miss out on a day of roller coasters and rides, even if it is a little rainy. So, we were finally ready to leave at 10:30, only an hour and a half late.
First stop was to Grandma Willes' house to drop off Brooklyn. She's not big enough to go on the rides and wouldn't stay content the whole day in the stroller, so thankfully Grandma said she'd spend the day with her. Next, we grabbed a bite to eat and under clear skies drove to Lagoon.
As we pulled into the parking lot, it started in again pouring rain. We checked in with my mom and dad who were still in Sandy, and decided to wait in the truck a few minutes for it to calm down. It did, so we jumped out and went in.
The first stop is always the Terror Ride, but Jax took one look and saw the skull on the outside and wasn't having any of that. So Sierra and I went on it and she did just fine. Next is always the Carousel. Sierra picked a cat and Jax picked a lion. (Funny how that matches their picks for Webkinz too!) Then we wandered over to the kiddie rides and did the airplanes, helicopters, and other stuff. We met up with the rest of my family, except Geoff who was MIA all day, and continued on doing the kiddie rides. Mom and Dad left to ride the big coasters, and we had fun doing the Ladybug Bop, Dinosaur Drop, Contiki, and other rides. It started raining again and my kids wanted to do the boats where there was an inch of water in the bottom. They were soaked, but Jay ran out to the truck and grabbed our emergency ponchos, a covered stroller for Madi, blankets, and some umbrellas. We stuck it out and continued on to the train ride, which of course was Jax's favorite. After that, Steph, Ty, and Grandma went out to their car so Steph could feed Madi and Grandpa was kind enough to take Sierra and Jaxson so Jay and I could go ride the big coasters with Jenn and Kyle.
We started on the Spider, which I love, and then got in line for Wicked. Jay and I didn't go last year because I was pregnant with Brooke, so this was our first time on that coaster and it was awesome! We loved it. We also did Colossus where we walked right on. That was the one good thing about the rainy day, there were hardly any lines. We hooked back up with Grandpa and since it was almost time for dinner, we headed over, but stopped for a quick ride on Jet Star and The Bat. That was the only big coaster that Sierra was tall enough to ride and the little daredevil loved it and screamed the whole way. My dad's company goes to Lagoon every year on Memorial Day, which was why we went, but they also do a barbecue at one of the pavillions. We had burgers and hot dogs, and all you can eat ice cream! Yum!
After dinner, the sun actually came out, so we stayed and did the Samurai, the Wicked again, and more kiddie rides. Sierra loved them all. Her favorite was The Bat, and the ladybug and dinosaur ones. She can't wait until she's tall enough to ride the big rides. Jaxson would get nervous on some of them, but he did really well and we got him on everything at least once. His favorite was the train, and he also liked the new one called Odysea where they shoot water out and you have to move your fish up and down to try and miss the water. I messed up once and got hit right in the side of the head and then that screwed me up, so I ended up hitting the next one in my leg. No wonder they make the parents sit on the outside!
We had a great time and Jay thanked me later for making him get up and go. This isn't the first time it has started out rainy and then turned into a nice day, so I knew we'd have fun no matter what. Thanks, Grandpa, for the extra special day!

Sierra is such a dare devil! Wonder where she gets it from? It was a great day, even with the rain and Tyler being such a wimp.
Cath, Jax looks just like you when you were a kid and that pic of Jay and Brooke looks alike. It is too funny. Brooke also has the "Cathie scowl". Too funny. Sorry we missed it. Next year!
