Since my parents were in St. George for Christmas, they decided to have a party for us for New Year's. We all decided to sleep over that night so we wouldn't have to worry about moving the kids or anything. Jay finally got home and we made our way over about 7:00. Mom and I had made food assignments earlier, but there was no need. When we walked in, we saw food everywhere! Dad had gone overboard ordering food from everywhere you could imagine! We had shrimp trays from Red Lobster, Sandwich and Dessert trays from Kneaders, and Southwest Eggrolls, Fajitas, and Stuffed Mushrooms from Chilis. This was in addition to the Taco Soup that mom had made, the drinks and Scotch Krispies that Jenn brought, and the Cornbread Muffins and Fajita Chicken Dip that I brought. They also had balloons, hats and noisemakers to help celebrate the new year.
After we got sick from eating, we worked it off playing Guitar Hero on Kyle's Wii. I thought I was the most competetive one in the family, but I think Jenn rivals me! We spent the night playing video games, chasing kids, and having fun. We got the kids to sleep around 10:30 or 11:00 and turned on Times Square with just a few minutes to go. We poured our bubbly (Sparkling Cider, of course) and celebrated with a kiss. We left Geoff out of the mix on that one too! We continued to talk until late in the night and finally went to bed.
We woke up the next morning to the smells of Dad's breakfast down in the kitchen. After a great breakfast of pancakes, eggs, potatoes, and bacon, we again turned on Guitar Hero. Jenn and I passed the easy level and finally had to turn it off so Jay and Dad could watch football. We continued to snack on food all day and were able to relax. When it was time to leave, we all loaded up on the food and went home with about a week's worth. Overall, it was a blast and a great way to start the New Year! Thanks Mom and Dad!

Sounds like a GREAT New Year. I'm sad I missed out on it. Guess there is always next year!
Sounds fun. Too bad we couldn't add 6 more people to the mix. Next year we'll have it at my house with Dad supplying the food of course.
