Well, we have been battling the cold for a few weeks now. It started with Jay on December 20th. He started with a sore throat, headaches, then a stuffy nose, runny nose, and ended with a cough. He was wiped out for about a week and taking all kinds of medicine to help him feel better. Brooke got it the next week, with a fever, runny nose, and just wanted to sit on my lap for three days straight.
You've heard about Jaxson. It hit him on Monday and wiped him out for about three days. He slept off and on on Tuesday from noon until the next morning. He's also horrible at taking medicine, so it was a fight to get him to take anything. His nose is so plugged, I can't understand anything he's saying. (It's hard enough when he's not sick!) Luckily he's acting fine now, he just looks like he's got a red mustache under his nose from wiping it so much.
Sierra got home on Tuesday night and said she wasn't feeling too well, so she laid down on the couch. I went upstairs to fix dinner and by the time it was ready, both her and Jax were asleep, so it was just Jay, Brooke, and I for dinner. It was nice to have a quiet dinner for a change. The next morning she was fine, but started saying her head hurt right before we left for schoo. She went anyway, but laid around again all night when she got home. She still complained about her head hurting and sounded stuffy on Thursday, so I was going to keep her home, but she said she was fine and wanted to go to school, because it was Show and Tell day. About 3:00, I got a phone call from her teacher saying she was just lying her head on the desk and not doing too well. Jay ran over to get her and she rested the rest of the day.
So, it looks like we're getting over it all now. The kids are back to acting normal: running around, making messes, fighting with eachother, etc... We're going to try to make it to the skating party tonight as long as they are still doing fine. The other problem is the fact that I remain the only one in the family to not be sick, so wish me luck that it will pass me by.
Good luck to you all, and stay healthy this season!
